Welcome to 5th Grade!!! I am so excited to meet and get to know everyone. This year marks my 21st year of teaching, where has the time gone?!!!! Over the years, I have taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grade. I also served as a Literacy Coach for 3 years. This will be my 5th year in 5th grade and my 9th year at Sauganash. Previous to Sauganash, I worked at another CPS school in East Rogers Park. (I LOVE 5th grade and I LOVE Sauganash!)
I completed my undergrad at St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin and although they tried hard, they never converted me into a Packers fan. I went on to get 2 Masters Degrees over the years. My first Masters is in Curriculum and Instruction from Loyola University and the second is in Leadership and Supervision from Northeastern University.
I am from Chicago; growing up in the Edgewater neighborhood and then moving to Sauganash when I was in High School.
Most people know me at school as Ms. Benjamin, but as of last year I am now Mrs. Murray! :) My biggest and most exciting news about myself is that 5 months ago my husband and I welcomed our baby girl into the world! We are over the moon in love with her and I was so fortunate to have the entire summer to spend at home.
Throughout the year you can contact me through email or by calling the school. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org School Phone: 773-534-3470
